NEET EXAM
For admission to MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH courses NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is a pen-and-paper medical entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA); Formerly known as AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) it is an all-India pre-medical test. Every year lakh of students participate in the NEET exam with the objective of getting admission to one of the most renowned medical institutes across the country.

What is the NEET 2026 ?
- In order for the students to pursue medicine in India as well as overseas, it is mandatory for the students to clear NEET 2026 exam.
- It is an offline test conducted covering the syllabus of classes 11th & 12th, the total number of marks allotted to the paper is 720.
- To appear for the NEET exam, the student must have completed Class 12 from a recognised board, with Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, and English as core subjects.
NEET 2025 Synopsis
In the year 2025, NEET was conducted on 04th May 2025 for medical aspirants in 552 Indian cities and a total of 14 cities outside India, for which the registration process began on 07th February 2025, & the application forms were available on the official website of NEET. As per the official announcement the last date for submission of the online form for NEET 2025 was 07th March 2025. A total of 22.7 Lakh registrations were witnessed for NEET 2025 recording the highest number so far. The results of the same were announced on 14th June 2025.
When will NEET 2026 be conducted?
The NEET UG 2026 exam is expected to be held in May 2026. The registration process will likely begin in February 2026 and continue through March 2026.Final dates will be confirmed by NTA through the official information bulletin on https://neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates should stay alert for official updates.

What is the age requirement for the NEET 2026 examination?
At the time of admission, the candidate must have completed 17 years of age or will complete that age on or before 31st December of the year of his or her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
What is the academic qualification for NEET 2026?
Candidates who have passed the class 12 board examination or would be appearing for the same or equivalent.
Which subjects are necessary to take up NEET?
Candidates must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually. He/She should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations. For admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses, one must have secured a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) – 2026.
What percentage is needed in Class 12 to appear for NEET 2026 exam?
Qualifying marks for NEET 2026 –under the general category candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination. In the case of the SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories the minimum requirement is 40%.
